Waste on sand

Focus: the theme of beach pollution
Concept: a gradual increase of plastic pollution on beaches

Waste on sand

My eyes were scanning a beach in search of colourful pieces of sea glass. I began seeing plastic fragaments dotted between the pebbles and it wasn’t long before I looked around and realised I had reached the ‘dirty’ end of the beach.

The shift was gradual, just like the larger problem of beach pollution worldwide. A stray plastic fork that blew away in the wind wears down to microplastic fragments now littering the beach, floating in the ocean and lining the stomachs of marine life (which eventually line our own).
